"Cliffside Woman" is the Debut Album from Australian artist Shhor.

//// SHHOR "CLIFFSIDE WOMAN" ////////////////

Cliffside Woman was written and recorded by Shhor across four continents (Australia, Poland, USA, Indonesia, China) using beautiful, naturally acoustic spaces; a handheld recording device and a solar powered recording studio in New Mexico.

This debut album is a celebration of voice and of humanness, of healing through making sound, and of releasing your sound to be met by nature (as off a cliff) and those people who resonate with it.

Space. This album is also an exploration of space; the space between people, the space between yourself and your own emotions, the space between the voice and the space it fills.

Cliffside Woman is largely self written, recorded and produced. “All You Are” and “Slowly” include additional co-production from Dale McMahon and Rob McPherson in Melbourne, Australia.

Shhor is from the Island of Tasmania, southern Australia, but currently resides in Northern New Mexico, building off the grid. She misses sitting and singing from the cliffs of the Island but for now she can do so from the side of the Rio Grande Gorge, as pictured on the cover photo.


///// SHHOR BIOGRAPHY ///////////////////////////

Shhor (Siobhan O'Rourke) is a Tasmanian (Australian) Singer/Producer who has recently relocated to Taos, New Mexico. Her sound is a soulful amalgamation of her influences- Southern Gospel, Blues, Jazz, Soul and Ambient Electronica. From her home island of Tasmania, Shhor moved to Melbourne (Australia) where her astoundingly dynamic voice and stage presence earned her an integral role in the scene that spawned the careers of Hiatus Kaiyote and Daniel Merriweather, Jazz Party and allowed for her to share a stage with D'Angelo.

As a professionally trained Solo Vocalist and Chorus Leader, Shhor is frequently hired to record her voice alongside hip hop artists and producers including Mphazes (Eminem), BeSpoke Music (Pharoahe Monch, Jill Scott), Illy, and Dylan Joel. Beyond Hip Hop, her vocal writing and recording has been remixed by Grammy Award winning house music legend Louie Vega (Master's at Work) for the song "Weekend Love" on Osunlade's Yoruba Soul Records.

In late 2017 Shhor and Miles Bonny were invited to Poland by the Cultural Institute in Lublin to facilitate a month long series of music workshops. They also toured Poland and Germany in this time. Some of Cliffside Woman was recorded while in Poland, inside a 700 year old building. Additional recordings for Cliffside Woman were completed and compiled in Northern New Mexico where she now lives.
